WINFIELD SCOTT MOWRY

  Winfield Scott Mowry, aged 81 years, died at 6:15 o'clock Friday evening at 
the home of his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Hanks, of Friedens, 
of pneumonia.  He had been ill one week.  Mr. Mowry is survived by his wife and 
daughter, Mrs. Hanks; two brothers, John Mowry, Somerset, and Cornelius Mowry, 
Friedens; four sisters, Louise, wife of E. C. Welch; Mrs. Sidney Long, Mrs. Mary 
C. Snyder and Ellen, wife of Harry Barnhart, all of Friedens, and two grandsons, 
Charles L. Hanks, Sherman Street, Johnstown, and Rev. Edgar W. Hanks, 
Blairsville.
  Funeral services were held at 10 o'clock Monday morning at the Hanks home, 
conducted by Rev. B. F. Rudisill, pastor of the Friedens Lutheran Church.  
Burial in the Lutheran Cemetery.
