Murray, a former resident of Confluence, well known all over the adjoining sections of Somerset and Fayette counties, died in the Odd Fellows Home in Grove City on Friday, December 27. He was aged 73 years, 11 months and 23 days, having been born Jan. 4, 1856, at Mill Run, Pa., where he lived until 1889 when he married Jennie Dull of New Centerville. After their marriage, they lived in Vanderbilt for several years. He afterwards conducted a hotel at Ohiopyle and later moved to Confluence and conducted the Park Hotel. After leaving the Park Hotel he lived with his son, Edwin Murray, until he entered the Odd Fellows' Home. He is survived by his wife and four children, Edwin and Jacob Murray, and Margaret Hyatt, of Confluence, and Mrs. Robert Sliger, of Morgan, Fayette County, Pa.; also by five grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Alfreda Livingston, of Mill Run. The funeral took place at the Odd Fellows Home on Sunday, December 29, at 2 p.m.; interment in the Odd Fellows' Cemetery at Grove City. Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Murray, Jacob Murray and Mrs. Margaret Hyatt of Confluence, attended the funeral. Meyersdale Republican, January 2, 1930
