Born July 16, 1923, in Baker Summit. The son of John and Frances (Otanicher) Naret. Preceded in death by parents; brother, John; sisters, Jenny Maxwell and Mary Testa, and granddaughter, Lauren Naret. Beloved husband of Mary Ann (Balya) Naret. Death ends marriage union of 46 years. Loving father of Jeffrey, married to the former Sheilah Mason, Pittsburgh; Michael, married to the former Helen Paulson, Johnstown; Frank H. and Mary Field, Saratoga Springs,N.Y.; Richard, married to the former Kathleen Long, Palm Harbor, Fla.; James, married to the former Tinamarie Sesack, Central City, and Meri Ann, wife of Ronald Alt, Stoystown RD. Cherished grandfather of J.J., Tony, Ariane, Michael, Paul, Marie, Michelle, David, Kaytlin and Rebecca. Brother of Frances, Philadelphia, and Joseph, Weirton, W.Va. Also survived by sisters-in-law, Betty Lou and Kathleen Naret; brothers-in-law, Harry Trusdell and Howard Testa; mother-in-law Margaret Balya, and godchildren, Lynn Testa and Henry Sprock. Frank was a graduate of Shade High School, Class of 1940. He served as commander of the American Legion Post 449. Charter member of Central City VFW Post 7547. He also served as commander of the Somerset County American Legion. He held membership in the 10th Mountain Division Alumni Association after serving in the ski troops during World War II. For 23 years Frank served on the Shade School Board, 11 of them as president. He was a member of the Somerset County Board of Education and helped with the formation of the Somerset County Vo-tech. In his earlier years, Frank was a member of the Central City Chamber of Commerce. He served on the Somerset County Board of Assistance and the Planning Commission. He was also on the Shade-Central City Joint Authority. He served as Grand Knight of Knights of Columbus Council 9109 Light of Christ in Central City. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and a member of the Holy Name Society. Frank was a member of the Somerset County Democratic Committee and served as chairman for four years. Friends will be received after 7 p.m. Wednesday and after 2 p.m. Thursday at the Mulcahy Funeral Home, Central City, where brief service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Friday, followed at 10 a.m. by Mass of Christian Burial at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Central City, the Rev. Msgr. I.C. Wadas. Interment with full military honors will be held at the parish cemetery. Knights of Columbus and the Joint Holy Name Societies will recite the Rosary at 6:30 p.m. and Vigil Service will be held at 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
