Born Dec. 13, 1925, in Coal Junction, son of Antonio and Maria (Bignardi) Neri. Preceded in death by parents; wife, former Nettie Elaine Paugh, on June 24, 1972; sisters, Jennie Neri, Angelina Brescia, Pearl Oldren and Jean Thompson; and brothers, Dominic "George" and Archille "Kelly." Survived by loving friend, Katherine Mostoller, Fredonia; sister, Estelle Coppola, Coal Junction; brothers, Lewis, Jennerstown, and Anthony, married to former Joyce Owen, Coal Junction; and numerous nieces and nephews. U.S. Army Infantry veteran of World War II, having served in both the European and Pacific Theaters of Operation. He also participated in the D-Day Liberation of France. He worked at many trades, including coal mining, farming, plumbing and heating, welding and electrical. Member of the American Legion and Somerset Post 554 VFW. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing. Viewing will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Hoffman Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Main Street, Boswell, where a service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday. Bunny's nephew, the Rev. Ralph Hammer, officiating. Interment, Beam Cemetery. Graveside military rites by the Somerset County Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to "In-Touch" Hospice, 223 South Pleasant Ave., Somerset, PA 15501.
