"Milt" Oaks, 93, of Stoystown, died Nov. 28, 1980, at Somerset Community Hospital. Born Oct. 16, 1887, in Johnstown, son of George and Annie (Hahn) Oaks. Preceded in death by parents; wife, the former Mabel Boyts; three brothers; and three sisters. Survived by these children: Mrs. Roy (Frances) Neiman, York; Mrs. Earl (Dorothy) Custer, and Mrs. John (Lois) Flick, Stoystown; Owen, married to Edith Shirey, Boswell; 10 grandchildren; 16 great- grandchildren. He was a brother of E. Clyde of Airville; Herman of Johnstown; Orion, Stoystown RD 2; and Kenneth, Hooversville RD 1. Retired farmer and coal miner. A member of Grace Lutheran Church, Stoystown, Forbes Area Senior Citizens, Cairnbrook Local 1023 UMWA, and Woodmen of the World. He was a former Quemahoning Township supervisor and survivor of the Johnstown Flood of 1889. Family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Saturday, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday at Deaner Funeral home, Stoystown. Remains will be removed to Grace Lutheran Church to lie in state from 10 a.m. until services at 11 a.m. Monday, the Rev. Ronald C. Long. Interment, Odd Fellows Cemetery, Stoystown.
