Oehling, 74, West Fairview, Somerset, died June 4, 1988, at Memorial Hospital, Johnstown. Born April 11, 1914 in Pittsburgh. Son of the late Frederick and Anna (Oehling) Oehling. Preceded in death by his parents and one sister Loretta Morgan. Survived by his wife of 48 years, the former Alice Herring; three sons, James married to former Marjorie Woods and Richard married to former Beverly Smith both of Somerset; Fred, married to former Corda Strong of Bethel Park; four grandchildren. Brother of Fred of Coraopolis, and Catherine Winter of Kansas. Member of the Somerset Lions Club where he served as president and treasurer. Helped organize the Little League in Somerset and managed the Lions Club team for several years; member of Somerset Volunteer Fire Department, receiving the Outstanding Award in 1981. Former owner-operator of Oehling Pharmacy, Somerset. A graduate of the University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy. A pharmacist at the Somerset Community Hospital for 25 years where he was Employee of the Year in 1981. He was a pharmacist of the State Hospital for several years. Received the Chamber of Commerce Outstanding Person Award in 1983. He was past president of Laurel Arts in Somerset. Former Somerset Borough Council member. Received the Somerset All-Sports Boosters Association award in 1982. Director of the Uniontown Motor Club. Member of Grace United Methodist Church, Somerset. Friends were received Monday and will be received 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the Wilbur D. Miller Funeral Home, where funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Charles Olson officiating. Interment Somerset County Memorial Park. Somerset Fire Department conducted a Memorial Service Monday; Somerset Lions Club Memorial Service will be Tuesday at 7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be given to the above mentioned organizations.
