"Baba" (Humenik) Palus, 84, Windber, went to be with the Lord, Aug. 18, 2006, at Conemaugh Medical Center. Born May 18, 1922, in Dobra, Czech., daughter of Andrew and Anna (Maslankova) Humenik. Preceded in death by parents; sisters, Mary and Teresa; brothers, Paul, Cyril and Andrew; and also Aunt Gumbita. Survived by husband, George Palus with whom she would have celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on Sept. 29, and these children, Annie, wife of Andrew Bachorz, Windber; Helena, wife of Paul Medvedz, New Jersey; Olga, wife of John Curlej, Windber; Maria, wife of Daniel Lawhead, Windber; grand-children: Brian and wife, Danielle, and Michelle; Paul and wife, Gina; Robert John and wife, Jenny; Maria, Janie and husband, Greg; Malissa and husband, Scott; and Johnny; Daniel Jr. and Stephen; great-grandchildren: Hailee, Sye Raven, Drake and Tailer; Morgan, Joshua and Ada Miele; Milan, Kacey and Max. Sister of Susan, wife of Julius Tomas; John Humenik and wife, Anna; Helena Horna, all of Slovakia; sister-in- law, Anna Humenik, Indiana. Also special friends, Ann Niovich, Windber, Helena and Joseph Urbanik and family, New Jersey. Anna loved her grandchildren, gardening and her flowers. Retired employee Tru-form Manufacturing, Windber, with 18 years service and former employee, Bestform Foundations. Member of ILGWU (United) and JED-NOTA. Also member of SS Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church, Windber, where Anna belonged to the Ladies Society, the Rosary Society and where funeral Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Monday. The Rev.
