  ELLEN WELCH PFEIFFER 
  
  Mrs. Ellen Welch Pfeiffer, 79, of Meyersdale, died July 30, 1977, at
  Castro Valley, Calif., where she was visiting.  Mrs. Pfeiffer was born
  at Hyndman, a daughter of the late Henry and Lona (Fichtner) Mauk.  She
  was twice married and both her husbands, Joel Welch and Harvey
  Pfeiffer, preceded her in death.  Surviving are two sons, Joel Welch
  Jr., Mobile, Ala., and Dr. William Welch, Corpus Christi, Texas; two
  daughters, Mrs. Ruth Ann Clapper, Castro Valley, and Mrs. Sue
  Kendall, Monroeville; a sister, Mrs. Mabel Parent, Charleroi; 16
  grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.  Funeral.services were
  held Tuesday at Price Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. H. Carl Buterbaugh
  officiating.  Interment, Union Cemetery.

  Helen Pfeiffer, 79, of Meyersdale died July 30, 1977, at Castro
  Valley, California.  Born Oct 2, 1897, in Hyndman, a daughter of the
  late Henry and Lona Fichtner Mauk.  Preceded in death by her first
  husband, Joel Welch, and her second husband, Harvey Pfeiffer.  She is
  survived by these children: Joel Welsh, Jr., Mobile, Ala.; Dr.
  William Welsh, Corpus Christi, Texas; Mrs. Ruth Ann Clapper, Castro
  Valley, California, Mrs. Sue Kendall Monroeville, 16 grandchildren,
  and five great grandchildren.  A sister of Mrs. Mabel Parent of
  Charleroi.  Friends will be received from 7 - 9 p.m. Monday at the
  Price Funeral Home, Meyersdale, where services will, be conducted at
  2 p.m. Tuesday. The Rev. Dr. H. Carl Buterbaugh will officiate.
  Interment, will be at the Union Cemetery, Meyersdale.
