Pitzer, 79, of Somerset, died Oct. 25, 1988, at his residence. Born Sept 17, 1909, in Fairmont, W.Va., son of the late Pearl M. and Goldie M. (Riggs) Pitzer. Survived by his wife, the former Lois M. Pyle; and daughters: Mrs. Alex P. (Sandra Lee) Varner and Mrs. David L. (Alice Mae) Deist, both of Somerset; three grandaughters: Anita Lynn Varner, Dawn Michelle Varner and Shannon Leigh Deist. Brother of: Mrs. William (Dolly) Burford, Freeport; Mrs. Harold (Betty Jane) Wagner, Shirleysburg; Mrs. Charles D. Norma Lee Glessner, Somerset. Member of Calvery United Methodist Church; F.&A.M. Lodge #358; F.O.E. Aerie #1801; the Industrial Golf League; and the Lutheran Bowling League of Johnstown. Veteran of U.S. Navy World War II. Friends received 2-4-and 7-9 p.m. Thursday (today) at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home where service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday with Rev. Harry C. Sherry and Rev. Roger L. Forry officiating.
