MARY CARNEY POPE

Garrett County, Maryland

  Mrs. Mary Carney Pope, wife of George Pope, died Saturday, Feb. 8, at her home 
near Avilton, after an illness of about two weeks.  She was 70 years of age.  
Surviving besides her husband are two sons, Claude Pope, Garrett County, and 
Carney Pope, at home; three daughters, Mrs. Floyd Miller, LaVale, Mrs. Lulu 
Bowman and Mrs. John Keating, Baltimore; two sisters, Mrs. Maurice Cummings and 
Mrs. Lawrence Densmore, Westernport; and four brothers, Joseph Carney, Keyser, 
W.Va., Stephen Carney, Elk Garden, W.Va., Dennis Carney and Leo Carney, South 
Carolina.
  Since early childhood, Mrs. Pope had been a member of St. Anne's Catholic 
Church at Avilton.
