Born Jan. 1, 1913, at Enidville, Fulton County. Preceded in death by parents, Jesse and Alice (Stunkard) Keith, and husband, John Francis Prendergast, in April 26, 1977. Also preceded in death by brother, Jesse Keith, Alexandria, and a sister, Dorothy Keith Cunningham, Chicago, Ill. Survived by children: Mrs. James (Joan Prendergast) Reeves, Huntingdon, and Dr. John F. Prendergast Jr., Berlin, Somerset County; these brothers and sisters: John Keith, Huntingdon RD; Harry Keith and Emma Keith Hess, both of Entriken; Jean Keith Stewart, Harrisburg, and Margarite Keith Sharp, Lady Lake, Fla. Member of Most Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, Huntingdon; J.C. Blair Memorial Nurses Alumni Association, and Altar Society of Most Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church. Employed as a registered nurse primarily in private duty and briefly for J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital after her graduation from nursing school in 1935. Partner of her late husband in numerous enterprises in the Huntingdon area. Attended the public schools of Trough Creek. Was a 1931 graduate of Huntingdon High School and a 1935 graduate of the J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital School of Nursing. Resident of Huntingdon County since 1929. Avid gardener and lover of the outdoors and travel. A wake service will be held at 8 p.m. today at the John B. Brown Funeral Home, 417 Washington St., Huntingdon. Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with Msgr. David A. Lockard presiding. Interment, Holy Cross Cemetery, Huntingdon. Friends will be received at the funeral home after 7 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. until the hour of service Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, memorials in remembrance of Ruth Prendergast may be sent to Most Holy Roman Catholic Church Building Fund, 401 5th St., Huntingdon, Pa. 16642 or to the charity of the donor's choice.
