Born Sept. 9, 1895 in Hyndman, he was the son of the late Charles J. and Mary (Martz) Purbaugh. He is also preceded in death by his wife, the former Eleanor Ida Phillips. Survived by a son, Lloyd R., of Rockwood, and a sister, Mrs. Clara Ruth Dahlstrom, Merritt Island, Fla.. A former telegrapher for the B&O Railroad, he served with U.S. Army A.E.F. Signal Corps in France during WWI. He was a member of the Asbury United Methodist Church, Uniontown. Friends will be received 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home, where services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, the Rev. Donald E. Krestar officiating. Interment, Mt.
