  VESTA F. RHOADES 
  
  Vesta F. Rhoades, 86, of Escondido, CA, died Jan. 17, 1989, at a
  local hospital.  She was born June 9, 1902, in Salisbury and moved to
  Lakewood in the early 1960s and to Escondido in the mid 1970s.  A
  homemaker, she and her husband had owned Rhoades Grocery Store in
  Sand Patch for nearly 20 years.  She was a member of the Gloria Dei
  Lutheran Church, Escondido; the Somerset Chapter of the Order of
  Eastern Star.  She is survived by her daughter Lois, of Escondido,
  Dolores Abbott, of West Columbia, SC; a son Gerald, of Granville, OH.
  Also a sister, Blanche Tepsich, Youngstown, OH; two grandchildren and
  one great-grandchild.  Memorial services were held at 11 a.m. Monday,
  at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church with Rev. Thomas Windsor officiating.
  The Telophase Society in San Diego war in charge of arrangements.
