Rice, 68, Meyersdale, died July 14, 1986, at Somerset Community Hospital. Born Jan. 27, 1918, in O'Hara Township, he was a son of the late Edward and Theresa (Vernon) Rice. He is survived by his widow, the former Margaret Murray; two brothers and three sisters: Edward, Monroeville; Robert, Mont Rose Hill; Mrs. Dorothy Charlton, Cheswick; Mrs. Kathryn Martinic, Powers Run; and Mrs. Ruth Smith, Greenville. He was a retired employee of Kellogg American Corp., Oakmont; a veteran of WW II, a member of the Ss. Philip and James Catholic Church; member of the Meyersdale VFW; and a member of the United Steelworkers of America. Friends are being received in the Leckemby Funeral Home. The funeral mass will be Thursday at 11 a.m. in the Ss. Philip and James Church with Father James Bunn. Interment, Union Cemetery. Rosary Wednesday at 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
