RICHTER Vernon Lenord Richter, 68, of RD 2, Accident, MD, died Thursday, July 12, 1990 at Garrett County Memorial Hospital, Oakland, MD. Born April 4, 1922 at Cove, MD, he was the son of the late George L. and Mary Jane (Foy) Richter. He was a retired press operator at Harbison Walker Refractories in Grantsville, MD; an Army veteran of World War II and was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Missouri Synod, at The Cove; Accident Post 208, American Legion; and United Steel Workers Local 14404. He is survived by his widow, Betty I. (Butler) Richter; two sons, James Richter, Catonsville, MD; Dr. Donald Richter, Oakland, MD; two daughters, Judy Travis, Oakland, MD; Vivian Diehl, Grantsville, MD; two sisters, Iva Maki, Seville, Ohio; Roberta Bernard, Oakland, MD; three brothers, Albert Richter; Grantsville, MD; Clarence Richter, Belle Vernon; Edwin Richter, Uniontown; and four grandchildren. Friends were received at the Newman Funeral Home, Grantsville, MD. Services were conducted Sunday at 2 p.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church by the Rev. Ernest Lindner.
