Rolla, 88, of Ligonier died Oct. 25, 1997 in the Bethlen Home. Born Aug. 17, 1909 in Mutual, son of the late John J. and Elsie Ault Rolla. While living in Kecksburg he was a well driller and farmer. He was a retired pipe fitter and member of the Plumbers and Pipe Fitters Local 354. He was a retired employee of John Hall Inc., Ligonier and associated with the Snyder Funeral Homes for over 15 years. He was a veteran of WWII having served with the C.B.'s in the U.S. Navy and was a member of the Mt. Pleasant American Legion Post 446 for over 40 years. Preceded in death by 8 brothers and sisters. Dave is survived by his wife of 51 years, Carrie Hauger Rolla; a sister, Mrs. Nelson (Susan) Kesler, Harrisburg and a number of nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends at Snyder Funeral Home Inc., Bell and E. Church St., Ligonier from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday in the chapel of the funeral home. Interment will be in Ligonier Valley Cemetery. Daily American, October 27, 1997 [R851]
