Miller, Fatally Injured while Helping a Neighbor Clifford Sechler, aged 28, of Somerset R.D. No. 2, died Tuesday morning, July 21st, in the Memorial Hospital, Johnstown, following an emergency operation late Monday for the removal of a kidney. Sechler was kicked by a horse Monday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock on the Cyrus Stahl farm in Somerset Township and suffered a punctured kidney. He was rushed to the Memorial Hospital, where it was found that he was suffering from internal hemorrhages and an immediate operation was performed. A blood transfusion also was resorted to in an effort to save the man's life. Sechler had been employed for three years on the farm of Attorney ??? and had gone to the Stahl farm to assist a neighbor, when he was kicked by the horse. He was a son of Mr. and Mrs. William Sechler, of Upper Turkeyfoot Township. In addition to his parents he is survived by his wife, Esther Dwire Sechler, and three children, Clarence, aged 7 years, Silas, aged 6 years and Jean, 21 months, and also by the following sisters and brothers: Eva, wife of Orlo May, Markleton; Ethel, a teacher in Dunbar Township schools, Fayette County; Viola, a nurse in Pittsburgh; George, of Chicago; Thelma, Ralph and Roy, at home. The body was prepared for burial by Mills & Mickey, of Rockwood, and was removed to the home of the decedent's parents, where funeral services were conducted Thursday afternoon, followed by interment in the I.O.O.F.
