Ramer's Father Dies Suddenly George Shannon of Watsontown, Pa., a hardware merchant of that place, and father of Mrs. H. W. Ramer, of Salisbury, was stricken by paralysis last Friday evening and died Sunday morning following. His sudden death was a great shock to his family and the community in which he lived, where he was held in high esteem. On the evening he was stricken, he had eaten his supper, then went to his store, returning a little later to his home, where he soon became unconscious while lying on a lounge. He died the following Sunday morning without regaining consciousness. Mr. Shannon was aged 70 years, and is survived by his wife and two daughters, namely, Mrs. H. W. Ramer of Salisbury, and Mrs. Ethel McWilliams, of Watsontown. The Ramers received word of Mr. Shannon's illness soon after he was stricken, and left here for Watsontown, Friday night. The funeral took place, Wednesday. Meyersdale Republican, August 13, 1931
