(Hoppy) Shaulis, 68, of Friedens RD 1 died Feb. 3, 1978 in the Somerset Community Hospital. Born Oct. 25, 1909 in Lincoln Township, a son of George L. and Minnie E. (Shaulis) Shaulis. Preceded in death by his parents, and one sister, Mary Moore. Survived by his wife, the former Evelyn Esherick, and these children: Fred, of Colorado Springs, Colo.; Robert G. of Somerset RD 2; and Wilbert E. of Friedens RD 1; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandsons. Brother of: Mrs. Annie McVicker of Stoystown RD 2; Owen of Stoystown RD 2; and Edith Mowery of Somerset. Member of the Beulah United Methodist Church; retired employee of Somerset Township. Friends will be received after 7:30 p.m. Saturday in the Robert H. Halverson Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 11 a.m. in the Beulah United Methodist Church with the Rev. J. Wesley Spahn officiating. Interment, church cemetery. The body will lie in state in the church from 10 a.m. until the hour of service. Daily American, February 4, 1978 [S1218]
