    Alice V. (Adams) Shortt, 84, Maple Mountain Manor, Berlin, formerly
  of Jerome, died May 22, 1994, at the manor.   Born Sept. 9, 1909, in
  Johnstown, daughter of Jonathan and Virgie (Yost) Adams.  Preceded in
  death by parents; husband, Bernard A., March 30, 1989, and brothers,
  William and Melvin.  Survived by these children: Margaretta, wife of
  Clarence Harmon, Jerome: Donald, married to Regina (Viel), Hampton,
  Va., and Gerald, married to Darlene Ernest, Powhatan, Va.  Also 11
  grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren and one great-great
  grandson.  Sister of Edna Pyle, Stahlstown; Clara Adams, Berlin RD;
  Mary Kesslar, Somerset RD 7, and Jessie Sheets and Evelyn Thomas,
  both of Jerome.  Member of Holy Cross Catholic Church, Jerome, and
  I.L.G.W.U.  Retired employee of the former Dorfman and Hoffman Garmet
  Factory, Boswell.  Friends received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
  Tuesday at the Hoffman Funeral Home, Main Street, Boswell, where wake
  service will be held at 2:30 p.m.  Mass of Christian Burial will be
  celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Cross Church, the Rev. Father
  Conrad Salach, O.F.M. Conv. Interment, church cemetery.
