"Sal" Skidmore, 58, died Tuesday, Nov. 3, 1987, in Memorial Hospital, Cumberland, Md. He was born April 7, 1929 in Midlothian, Md., son of the late Edgar and Anna (Williams) Skidmore. He was employed by Frostburg State University, Md., an Army Veteran of the Korean War; member of Frostburg Aerie 1273 Fraternal Order of Eagles, Lonaconing Republican Club; Farrady Post 24, American Legion; and Barrelville Outdoor Club. Survivors include his widow, Marion (Wolford) Skidmore; two daughters: Kimberly A. Skidmore and Diane L. Skidmore, both at home; six brothers: Jack Skidmore and William Skidmore, both of Slabtown, Md.; Leroy Skidmore and Frank Skidmore, both of Grahamtown, Md.; Clifton Skidmore, Baltimore, Md.; and Thomas Skidmore, Cumberland, Md. Also surviving are six sisters: Mrs. Leona A. Collawn, Midlothian, Md.; Mrs. Helen Potter, Roan Mountain, Tenn.; Mrs. Margaret Twigg, Mrs. Wanda Binnix and Mrs. Inez Crowe, all of Frostburg, Md.; Mrs. Betty Bittinger, Woodland, Md.; Mrs. Frances Rodermar, Springs; and a number of nephews and nieces. Friends were received in the Durst Funeral Home, Frostburg, where services were conducted Saturday at 11 a.m. by the Rev. George M. Harpold. Interment, Eckhart Cemetery. Pallbearers, all nephews, were Wayne Skidmore, Pete Skidmore, Dennis Skidmore, Brian Skidmore, Gene Bittinger and Mark Atkinson. The Republic, November 12, 1987 [S1885]
