Smith, 71, of Acosta died May 10, 1995, in University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. Born Aug. 23, 1923, in Somerset County. Daughter of late Louis and Elvira (Zanoni) Benini. Preceded in death by husband, Frank J., on Dec. 5, 1981. Survived by these children: Marvin F., Jennerstown; Marcia, wife of Charles T. Kerekes; Patricia, wife of Jeffrey Evans, and Mary Jean, wife of Rex Koontz, all of Stoystown RD 1; 9 grandchildren; sister, Ann Thomas, Ligonier RD 5, and three brothers: Alcide Benini, Newport News, Va.; Adriano Benini, Dover, Del., and Frank Benini, Sipesville. Member of St. John's Catholic Church, Acosta, where she was catechism instructor for 40 years. Former judge of election in Jenner Township. Formerly served on county election computation board. Friends will be received from noon to 9 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at the Robert H. Halverson Funeral Home. Wake service at 8 p.m. Friday. Mass of Christian Burial at 1 p.m. Saturday at St. John's Church, Acosta, Rev. Father Raymond E. Karr. Interment, Husband Cemetery.
