Smith, 77, Acosta, died Feb. 6, 2003 at home. Born Sept. 9, 1925 in Boswell, son of the late Dewey and Alma (DeLozier) Smith. Survived by wife of 53 years, the former Rose Marie Kozel and sisters, Marietta, widow of Milton Griffin, Boswell, Helen, widow of Ray Weigle, Friedens, Roberta Ling-Kaulp, Mansfield, Ohio, and Emma Jean, married to Ray Charlton, Hollidaysburg. Also survived by sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Josephine and Rudy Zanoni, Acosta, and numerous nieces and nephews. Member of the former Boswell High School class of 1944. Navy veteran of World War II having served in the Pacific Theater of Operation. Retired cloth cutter of the former Dorfman and Hoffman Garment Factory, with over 39 years service. A member of All Saints Catholic Parish and the Shanksville American Legion. Former member of the Knights of Columbus. Friends received from 2 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Hoffman Funeral Home, Main Street, Boswell, where vigil for the deceased will be held at 2 p.m. Friday. Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Saturday at All Saints Chapel, Acosta. The Rev. Father Justin A. Ratajcza OFM Conv. celebrant.
