    David N. "Pudge" Smith, 63, of Monastery Drive, Latrobe, formerly
  of Jerome, DOA Feb. 3, 2002 at Latrobe Hospital.  Born Sept. 19, 1938
  in Jerome.  A son of Edward J. and Helen "Nell" (Lease) Smith. 
  Preceded in death by parents, infant daughter Kealy and brother
  Donald L., 1979.  Survived by wife of 40 years the former Thelma
  "Sally" Kuhns; sons David and Mark, both at home; grandchildren,
  Matthew and Angelica; brothers, Raymond E. "Red" married to Joyce
  Clack, Charlestown, W.Va., and Edward J. "Hack", Jerome, and
  sister-in-law, Lois (Blough) Smith, Davidsville.  A 1957 graduate of
  Conemaugh Township Area High School, Davidsville, member of the UMWA,
  former welder for Island Creek Coal Company and worked with a
  demolition crew for several years.  Friends received from 2 to 4 p.m.
  and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Hoffman Funeral Home, Allegheny
  Street, Boswell, where service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday,
  Larry C. Hoover, officiating.  Interment, Jenner Crossroads Cemetery.
