"Butch" Smuch Sr., 58, of Somerset Pike, Boswell RD, formerly of Harrison City, Westmoreland County, died Feb. 12, 2002 at the Frick Hospital, Mt. Pleasant. Born May 30, 1943 in Sewickley. Son of John Smuch and Doris (Barton) Smuch-Haswell. Preceded in death by parents and stepfather, Robert Haswell. Survived by loving companion, Jackie Garrety; sons, John Jr., Darlington, Ind.; and Ronald, Harrison City. Also brother William Izzo; sister, Bobbie Lee, wife of John Zaborowski, Somerset; former wife, Sharyn (Watson) Smuch, Harrison City; and aunts, Bobbie Nowaski, Helen Parker and Eva Perfetti. Life member of the Somerset Post 554 VFW where he served as vice president of the Somerset Memorial Day Parade. Also member of the Donegal Post 941 American Legion and the FOE of Somerset. Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Hoffman Funeral Home, Allegheny Street, Boswell where service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Rev.
