  SPANGLER
  
  A. Gilbert (Gib) Spangler, 80, Listie, died Nov. 3, 1984, in Somerset
  Community Hospital.  Born March 2, 1904, in Meyersdale, son of the
  late James and Minerva (Spaugy) Spangler.  Preceded in death by
  brothers: Walter and Sam, and sister, Lottie Sarver.  Survived by his
  wife of 58 years, Elvie (Thomas) Spangler, four children: Mrs. Russell
  (Hazel) Moore, Somerset RD 5; Clifford, married to the former Louise
  Zarefoss, Listie; Mrs. Paul (Shirley) Welsh, Friedens RD 1; and David
  A. Spangler, at home; 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. 
  Brother of Mrs. Leroy Foust and Mrs. Viola Trent, both of Friedens RD
  1.  Member of Geiger Church of the Brethren; Fraternal Order of the
  Eagles, Somerset; UMWA, Listie Local; retired coal worker.  Friends
  were received Sunday and will be received Monday from 2-4 and 7-9
  p.m. at the Wilbur D. Miller Funeral Home, where funeral service will
  be conducted Tuesday at 1:30 p.m., with the Rev. Gerald Deffenbaugh
  officiating.  Interment, Friedens Lutheran Cemetery.
