Spohn, 89, of Meyersdale, formerly of Robesonia, Berks Co., died Oct. 4, 2001 at Patriot Manor in Somerset. Born Dec. 22, 1911 in Lancaster County, a daughter of the late Howard E. and Elizabeth (Foltz) Hoffman. Also preceded in death by her husband, Adam F. Spohn Jr., Nov. 16, 1977. Survived by her daughter, Britta E., wife of the Rev. Carl P. Mitchell, Meyersdale; two grandchildren, Rebecca, wife of Rodger Hutzell Jr., Meyersdale, and Timothy A. Mitchell, Washington, D.C.; also 2 great-grandchildren Christian Allan and Elise Marie Hutzell. A member of the Amity United Church of Christ, Meyersdale; Meyersdale Hospital Auxiliary; Friends of the Robesonia Furnace; Berks County Sr. Citizens Council Inc.; AARP; and Western Berks Association of School Retirees. Charter member of Robesonia Women's Club and Tulpehocken Settlement Historical Society. Life member of Pennsylvania Association of School Retirees, Berks Co. Chapter; Pennsylvania State Retired Teachers Association; and Pennsylvania State Education Association. Employed for over 15 years at Public Finance Service of Reading, Pa.; 24 years by the Conrad Weiser School District as secretary to the superintendent, secretary of Robesonia and Conrad Weiser School Boards, and Business Manager of Conrad Weiser School District. After retirement she was a tour guide for the Robesonia Senior Citizens. Friends will be received 12 noon to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Price Funeral Home, Meyersdale. Friends will be received from 12 noon until 1 p.m. Monday, the time of service, at the Lamm and Witman Funeral Home in Wernersville. Interment will follow at St. Daniel's Cemetery.
