  Howard W. "Pappy" Steckman, 66, Stoystown RD 3, died May 12, 1981, at
  Somerset Community Hospital.  Born Aug. 2, 1914, at Madera, son of
  James and Luella (Layton) Steckman.  Preceded in death by parents and
  brother, James Jr.  Brother of: John H., Canton, Ohio; Mrs. George
  (Margaret) Kovack, Detroit, Mich.; Elmer T. and Mrs. Jack (LaVerne)
  Weyandt, both of Shanksville; Mrs. George (Diana) Engle, Austin,
  Texas; Mrs. Dean (Mary) Metzgar, Stoystown RD 3; Mrs. James (Edyth)
  Kimmel, Somerset.  Member Reading Grace Brethren Church.  Retired
  coal miner, also retired from Highland Steel Co.  Family will receive
  friends from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday at Deaner Funeral Home,
  Stoystown, where services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, The
  Rev. Larry R. Weigle.  Interment, Odd Fellows Cemetery, Stoystown.
