"Moe" Stroscio Jr., 37, Jerome, died unexpectedly June 3, 2004, at Memorial Medical Center, Johnstown. Born Sept. 1, 1966, in Roswell, N.M. Preceded in death by grandparents, Lee and Betty Witkosky and Sam and Angeline Stroscio; uncle, Don Stroscio and stepfather, John Gavin. Survived by wife, the former Elaine Shaulis; daughter, Isabella; mother, Constance J. (Witkosky) Stroscio-Gavin, Johnstown; sister, Maria Stroscio, Johnstown; niece, Kaylee Stroscio; father- and mother-in-law, Dale and Rita "Dolly" (Walker) Shaulis, Jerome; brother-in-law, Jason Shaulis, married to the former Kristy Walker, Philadelphia; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins; best friends John Mitchell, Indiana, Pa. and Chris Lenhart, Ligonier; and beloved hunting companion, Gypsy Rose. A 1984 graduate of Bishop McCort High School. He attended the Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Employed by DRS Laurel Technologies, Johnstown, as a senior systems technician. A member of St. Anne Catholic Church, Davidsville and the Jerome Sportsmen's Club. Also a 16-year member of the Indiana Lodge 931, BPO Elks. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Friends received from 2 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Hoffman Funeral Home, Route 403 and Church Road, Davidsville, where vigil for the deceased will be held Sunday afternoon. Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Anne Church. The Rev. Father Michael Lewandowski OFM, Conv., celebrant. Committal Maple Spring Cemetery, near Jerome.
