Born Dec. 20, 1941, at Salisbury, he was a son of the last Forrest Homer and Amelia Dru (Skidmore) Thomas. Thomas was a production engineer for Geotz Candies. He is survived by his wife, Neva D. (Lohr) Thomas; 3 daughters: Neva L. Horseman, Donna D. Ports and Susan D. Young, all of Baltimore; a grandson, Frederick D. Young III; 3 sisters: Emogen Christner, Salisbury, and Helen Housel and Pauline Harmic, both of Meyersdale; 4 brothers: Mahlon Thomas, Edgemere, Md.; William Thomas, Baltimore; John Thomas, Limestone, Tenn., and Richard Thomas, Fallston, Md. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Newman Funeral Home, Salisbury, where services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, with the Rev. Garry L. Kipe officiating. THOMAS Former Salisbury resident Ralph Edward Thomas, 54, of Joppa, Md., died of a stroke at Greater Baltimore Medical Center on Aug. 13, 1996. A resident of Baltimore since 1953, Thomas was a dedicated employee of Goetze's Candy Company for 38 years, where he was in charge of production. Mr. Thomas is survived by his wife, Neva; three daughters: Neva Lee Horseman, Donna Ports and Susan Young; and one grandson, Fred Young, Jr. He is also survived by four brothers: Mahlon and William, both of Baltimore, Md.; John, Tennessee; and Richard, Bel Air, Md.; sisters: Emogen Christner, Salisbury; Helen Housel and Pauline Harmic, both of Meyersdale; and numerous nieces and nephews. Thomas was preceded in death by his parents, Forrest (Pete) and Amelia Thomas. Mi. Thomas was an organ donor. Coincidentally same day he passed away, his brother, Richard, had been put on the transplant list. Richard now has his brother's kidney and is doing well. Ralph's heart was transplanted into a 34 year old woman, the liver to a 37-year old gentleman, and his right kidney to a 62-year old gentleman. All recipients are doing well.
