Born Nov. 5, 1935, in Somerset, the son of William Emil Sr. and Rose (Macyda) Tokar. Preceded in death by parents; wife, the former Wanda Marie Kowalczyk, who died Dec. 1, 1997. Survived by children, Pamela Tokar-Ickes and husband, Mark, Somerset; William G. Tokar III and wife, Heather, Somerset; Robert C. Tokar and wife, Regina, Chester, N.J.; grandchildren, Bradford and Terrell Ickes, Wesley and Ava Tokar, all of Somerset; Evan and Peter Miu, Chester, N.J.; and a sister, Betty J. Lapina, Levittown. A 1953 graduate of Somerset High School, he also attended Indiana Teachers College, where he was a member of the Kappa Delta Rho Fraternity. U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, where he was in the Signal Battalion in Germany and was a general's orderly. Worked as a self employed manufacturers sales representative for various businesses until his retirement in 2001. Also a member of St. Peter's Church, Knights of Columbus and Somerset Kiwanas, where he was a past president. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home, Somerset. Funeral Mass will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Peter's Church, Somerset. Monsignor Samuel J. Tomaselli, celebrant. Committal, Somerset County Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be given to St. Peter's Church, 433 W. Church St., Somerset, PA 15501.
