  Rebecca M. Townsend, 83, Somerset, died May 26, 1979, in Mercy Hospital,
  Johnstown.  Born July 22, 1895, in Cherrytree, Pa., daughter of the late
  Harvey and Odessa (Shankle) Johnson.  Preceeded in death by husband, Wiliam
  Paul Sr., and two sisters.  Survived by children: Mary Margaret, wife of
  John Bowman, Somerset RD 4; Mrs. Imogene Stark, Phoenix, Ariz.; William
  Paul Jr., Phoenix, Ariz.; Thomas Russell, Red Lion, Pa.; Barbara, wife of
  Albert D. Brunel, Somerset; 14 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren;
  brothers and sisters: John Johnson, Warriors Mark, Pa; Mrs. William (Julia)
  Sellers, Warriors Mark, Pa.; Mrs. Mary Griffith, Phoenix, Ariz.; Mrs. Roy
  (Helen) Whellan, Warriors Mark, Pa.  She was a retireee of the Howard
  Johnson restaurant chain.  Funeral services will be held Tuesday, 10:30 a.m.
  at Richard E. Hauger Funeral Home, the Rev. Carl Hull officiating.
  Interment, Somerset County Memorial Park.
