Tressler, son of the late Frank and Ruth (Daniels) Tressler, died at his work in Masontown, Pa. about 8:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 2nd, of apoplexy. Mr. Tressler was born in Addison Township on August 3, 1880 and was aged 64 years, 2 months and 29 days when he died. He is survived by three daughters, Marie, Pittsburgh; Maisie, wife of Lawrence Fraley, Morgantown, W.Va.; and Gladys, near Boston, Mass.; three sons, Clarence, in the U.S. Army overseas, Clyde, Baltimore, Md.; and Lt. Duane Tressler, a pilot in the Atlantic Ferry Service of the U.S. Air Corps. Also surviving are four brothers and two sisters: Renaldo, Monessen; John, Connellsville; Ezra, Harnedsville; and Ellet, Greenville Township; and Lucy, wife of John Walker, Boswell; and Catherine, wife of Frank J. Swartzwelder, Salisbury. He was preceded in death by a son in childhood, two brothers, Jess and Walter, and one sister, Sarah. Mr. Tressler was a former resident of Salisbury and he and his family were well-known in this vicinity. He was a member of the Methodist Church in Masontown. He had been in failing health for the last few years, and had been doing light work for the firm by which he was employed. Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m., on Sunday, November 5th, in the Charles E. Jenkins Funeral Home in Morgantown, W.Va., with Rev. W. T. Poling officiating, and again at 4:15 p.m. in St. John's Lutheran Church, Salisbury, with Rev. George E. Bowersox, Jr., officiating. Interment in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Salisbury, with Mortician Charles E. Jenkins of Morgantown in charge. Meyersdale Republican, November 9, 1944
