Urban, 73, of Garrett RD 1, died March 8 at the VA Medical Center, Altoona. Born Dec. 1, 1916 in Listie. A son of the late Michael and Florence (Newcomer) Urban. Survived by his wife the former Mildred Vought; a daughter, Karen Wimberely, Houston, Texas; two step-sons, Robert I. Vought of Meyersdale RD 1 and Paul Kevin Vought of Garrett RD 1. Five grandchildren, Sonya, Joshua and Caleb Vought; Carl and David Wimberely. A brother of Richard of Abeline [sic], Texas, Robert of Listie, James of Clendenin, W.Va., Vivian Urban of Shanksville, and Geraldine Penserio of Somerset. Member of St. Michael's Church, Listie, American Legion Post 112, D.A.V. American Ex-POW and Military Purple Heart. A Veteran of WWII, he was a B17 waist gunner. He was shot down on his 17th mission over Germany. He was a retired cement mason. Private funeral services are in charge of the Price Funeral Home, Meyersdale. Pastor Pamela Armstrong officiating.
