BERTHA WEYAND

  Mrs. Bertha E. Weyand, wife of Preston D. Weyand, died suddenly at her home in 
Confluence, Saturday, September 23, following a cerebral hemmorrhage.
  Mrs. Weyand was born in Berlin, Germany, Sept. 28, 1886.  She came to 
Pennsylvania in 1902 and since her marriage Sept. 28, 1908, to Preston D. 
Weyand, has been a resident of Confluence.  She was an active member of Trinity 
Lutheran Church. 
  She is survived by her husband and the following children: Hilda E. Weyand, 
R.N., U.S. Veterans' Facility, Dearborn, Michigan; Cpl. Harry P. Weyand, serving 
overseas in England; Mrs. Frieda L. Korns, Somerset, and Mrs. Grace M. Holland 
of Ohiopyle; also by two grandchildren, Barbara and Richard Korns.  One brother 
and sister survive, Mrs. Anna Herrick and John Kutzner, both of McKees Rocks.
  Funeral services were held at the Lutheran Church, Tuesday, September 26, at 
2:30 p.m.  Burial, under the direction of C. B. Humbert, in the Ursina cemetery.
