"Butch" Williams, 84, Somerset, died April 14, 1990, in Somerset Hospital. Born Jan. 16, 1906, in Jefferson Township, son of the late Joseph Addison and Nina Mary (Benford) Williams. Also preceded by first wife, the former Edna Fern Leer, and second wife, Sylvia Morrison; son, Richard; brother, Edward Williams; and sisters, Ruby Walker and Emma Williams. Survived by wife, the former Bertha L. Umberger; daughter, Mrs. Douglas (Betty) Speicher, Queensbury, N.Y.; and step-children, Dr. Ralph Morrison, Johnstown, and Mrs. Dolph (Charlotte) Hays, Washington D.C. Also survived by three granddaughters, Nancy Hasso, Kim Kieser, and Amy Jones; also four great-grandchildren. Veteran U.S. Army, World War II. Retired owner and operator of Williams Auto Repair, Somerset. Member of Trinity Lutheran Church, F.O.E. Aerie 1801. Past trustee of V.F.W. Post 554. Friends received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home, where service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Rev. H. James Meyers officiating.
