Mr. Wisler suffered a heart attack and seemed to be recovering to the point of being out of bed, but a relapse occurred and caused his death. Mr. Wisler was born in Elk Lick Township on February 11, 1869, a son of Susan (Phillipi) and Dennis Wisler, and was but 19 days short of his 80th birthday. He was twice married, first to Annie Bette Engle, daughter of Diane and Theodore Engle, who died about 50 years ago. All three of his children were born to this marriage. His second wife, Mrs. Sadie (Wise) Wisler, survives him. Also surviving are two sons and a daughter - Clarence and John Wisler, both of El Monte, Calif., and Mrs. Ida Loechel of Woodstock, Va.; two brothers, John A. Wisler of Berlin and George Wisler of Navarre, O.; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Dickey, Rockwood, and Mrs. Lydia Tedrow, Salisbury; a half-sister, Mrs. Ida Shilling of Lincoln, Nebraska; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Mr. Wisler was a member of St. Paul Wilhelm Reformed Church, and of Star Lodge No. 409, Knights of Pythias. He has been treasurer of the latter organization for many years. Funeral services were conducted in St. Paul Reformed Church at 2:30 p.m., Tuesday, with the pastor, the Rev. George K. Ely, officiating. Interment was made in the church cemetery in charge of Mortician Stanley M. Thomas. Meyersdale Republican, January 27, 1949
