Baughman Yakimick, 59, of Emerson St., Rockwood, formerly of Scottdale died July 9, 2002 in UPMC-Shadyside. She was born Nov. 30, 1942 in Waycross, Ga., a daughter of the late Irvin A. Baughman who died Feb. 5, 1988 and Mildred G. (Shamer) Baughman who died June 19, 1997. Joan's memories will be forever cherished by her loving and devoted daughters: Tausha E. Adams and her husband Matthew of Pittsburg; Nicole A. Yakimick of Flower Mound, Texas; her grandchildren: Madelyn Quinn and Lillian Clementine Adams; Her aunt Marie Parsons and her husband Paul of Ga.; her two uncles Raymond "Bud" Santmyer of Fla. and A. J. Baughman and his wife Patricia of Monroe Falls, Ohio. She was a graduate of Scottsdale High School Class of 1960. Joan was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church, New Centerville. Joan had been employed as an insurance auditor for Rockwood Insurance Co. (Rockwood Holding), Rockwood. Joan's memberships consisted of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Rockwood American Legion Post and the PHTC. Following her departure from Scottdale, Joan moved to Colorado and traveled throughout the western states and settled with her family in New Centerville where she enjoyed her country surroundings and as she phrased it "playing in the dirt" of her flower gardens at home. Joan's family will greet friends in the Frank Kapr Funeral Home, Inc., 417 West Pittsburgh Street, Scottdale, Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday, the hour of her funeral service. Private committal services and interment will be held in Scottdale Cemetery, Scottdale at the convenience of the family. Daily American, July 11, 2002
