Born at Borden Shaft, Md. on Sept. 12, 1908, she was the daughter of the late John A. Sr. and Catherine E. (Trapp) Chapman. Her husband, James E. Yarnall, died in July, 1969. She taught school for 42 years, the last 17 in the first grade at West Side School, and had taught at Cresaptown, Gephart, Union Street, Penn Avenue and Columbia Street elementary schools. She was a 1925 graduate of Beall High School and a 1927 graduate of Frostburg State Normal School, a member of St. Patrick's Catholic church, the Frostburg State Alumni Association, and the Retired Teacher's Association, and was past president of the Association of Children's Education. Surviving are two brothers, George T Chapman and Francis Warren Chapman, both of cumberland, Md.; four sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Miller and Mrs. Bernadette Chorpenning, both of Cumberland, Md.; Mrs. Margaret Fisher, Salisbury, and Mrs. Leola M. Miller, LaVale, Md.; and several nieces and nephews. Friends were received in the Scarpelli Funeral Home. Mass of Christian burial was celebrated Monday at noon in St. Patrick's Catholic church. Interment, St. Mary's cemetery. The Republic, December 16, 1986
