(Earl) Yoder, 84, West Church Street, Somerset, died Sept. 24, 1986, in Somerset Community Hospital. Born April 28, 1902, in Somerset, daughter of the late Jacob and Ann (Spangler) Berkey. Preceded in death by parents; husband, Earl, who died in 1965; daughter, Betty L. McGuire, who died in 1968; sisters: Mary and Stella; and brothers: Harry and Tice. Survived by son, Vernon, married to the former Virginia Charlton, Somerset RD 5; daughter, Elaine, wife of Willard Simpson, Somerset; one niece, Ethel (Dolly) Hill, Somerset; seven grandchildren: Carol Weidner, Larry Yoder, Joyce Miller, Margie Heaslip, Vicki Lauver, Kevin McGuire and Steve Simpson; 13 great-grandchildren. Member of the Church of the Brethren, Somerset. Retired employee of General Telephone Company; life-member of the Independent Telephone Pioneer Association. Member Senior Hospital Auxiliary, Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW, Ladies Auxiliary of the Eagles, Pride-of-the-Valley Council 456 Daughters of America, Loyal Star of America, A.A.R.P. Friends will be received 7-9 p.m. Thursday and 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Friday at Robert H. Halverson Funeral Home, where services will be conducted Saturday at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev. Roger L.
