Younkin, 68, died Saturday evening, Nov. 11, in Memorial Hospital, Cumberland, to which he was admitted, October 22. Funeral services were held in the Winterberg Funeral Home, Tuesday morning, November 14, at 10 o'clock. Rev. R. G. Henson, pastor of the Grantsville Methodist Church, officiated. The pallbearers were Harvey Gortner, C. O. Bender, Milton Rodamer, N. U. Broadwater, L. B. Schaefer and Winfred Snyder. Interment in the family plot in Grantsville cemetery. George A. Younkin, son of the late Cyrus and Julia Ann Younkin, was born July 1, 1874, in Grantsville, where he spent most of his life. His wife, Susan Beckett, died in July, 1930. Surviving are five children - three daughters, Mrs. Hazel Livingstone and Mrs. Nina Patterson of Clarksburg, W.Va., and Mrs. Carl Richter, Grantsville, and two sons, Floyd Younkin, Louisa, Ky., and Willis, in the U. S. Army in England. Also by six granddaughters, one grandson - Donovan Patterson, in the South Pacific, and two brothers, Milton and Thomas Younkin, Grantsville, and two sisters, Miss Cora Younkin and Mrs. Charles Messersmith, Lester, Pa. Meyersdale Republican, November 16, 1944
