ZERFOSS, Rita M.   05/24/07   Daily American

Rita M. Zerfoss, 63, Somerset, passed away May 23, 2007, at her home. Born Feb. 
28, 1944, in Hyndman, she was a daughter of the late William E. and Gladys A. 
(Bloom) Harden. She is also preceded in death by brothers, William C. Harden and 
Robert Harden. She is survived by Clarence Zerfoss, her husband of 11 years, 
whom she married Sept. 22, 1995; a daughter, Tina Alvares and husband, Floyd, 
Berlin; stepsons, Doug Zerfoss, Tennessee; Eugene Zerfoss, Acosta; Clifford 
Zerfoss, Boswell; a brother Donald Harden, Wellersburg; two grandsons, Michael 
and Nicholas Alvares; three step grandchildren, Amanda, Joshua and Nikki 
Zerfoss; and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Zerfoss was a private caregiver 
for the elderly. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Hyndman, 
Fort Ashby American Legion Ladies Auxillary and the New Baltimore Sportsman's 
Club. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the 
Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home, 169 Clarence St., Hyndman, where a funeral 
service will be held 11 a.m. Friday. The Rev. Mark Blair officiating. Burial 
will follow in Hyndman Cemetery, Hyndman. In lieu of flowers, donations may be 
made to "In Touch" Hospice, Somerset.
