The death of Robert H. Jordan occurred at 8:15 a. m. yesterday at the home of
his daughter, Mrs. James R. Eiseman, of Greensburg, following a lingering
illness. Mr. Jordan was a son of the late Joseph and Alice Vernon Jordan, and
was born in Clearfield County on September 17, 1866. He was a retired farmer who
spent most of his life in Hempfield Township. His wife, Alice Kerr Jordan, died
in 1945. In addition to the daughter at whose home he died, Mr. Jordan is
survived by these other children: Mrs. Mortis H. Shaffer, Norvelt; James K. and
Edgar W. Jordan, both of Greensburg. Also surviving is a twin brother David J.
Jordan, of Greensburg, RD 2; 15 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was a member of the First Lutheran Church of Greensburg. Friends will be
received in the Coshey-Buchanan Funeral Home from 2 to 5 and 7to 9 o'clock
daily. In the absence of the Rev. Samuel Boerstler, S. T. D., Rev. E. H.
Dougherty will conduct the funeral services at 3 o'clock Sunday afternoon in the
funeral home. Interment will be made in the Brush Creek cemetery.
