Mrs. Elvira Pantalone, 85, of 302 Urania Ave., Greensburg, died Saturday in
Westmoreland Hospital, Greensburg. She was born Oct. 20, 1890, in Sperone
(Avellino), Italy, a daughter of the late Frank and Mary Grace Pantalone. She
owned and operated the Sunset Cafe on Urania Avenue, Greensburg, with her late
husband, Peter (Pete) Pantalone, since 1934. She was a member of Our Lady of
Grace Catholic Church, Greensburg. She was preceded in death by her husband,
Peter (Pete) Pantalone Aug. 16, 1974; two daughters, Mrs. Jean Alwine in 1952
and Victoria Pantalone in 1918, and three brothers, Ralph Pantalone, Patsy
Pantalone and Dan Pantalone.
She is survived by five children, Mrs. Jerry (Emily) Noviello, Ralph, Alex and
Frank D., all of Greensburg, and Gloria of Arlington, Va.; five grandchildren;
one great-grandson; two sisters and one brother, Mrs. Paul (Anne) Marengon of
Export and Olympia Pantalone and Antonio Pantalone, both of Sperone (Avellino),
Italy, and a number of nieces and nephews. Friends will be received in Clement
L. Pantalone Funeral Home, 409 West Pittsburgh St., Greensburg, from 3 to 5 and
7 to 9 p.m. daily. A blessing service will be held in the funeral home at 8:30
a.m. Wednesday followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 9 a.m. in Our Lady of
Grace Catholic Church. A parish wake service will be held in the funeral home at
8:15 p.m. Tuesday.
