John Suckenik, 79, of Stahlstown (formerly of Acme) died in McGinnis Hospital,
Ligonier, Sunday evening. He was born June 6, 1894, in Mt. Pleasant, son of the
late Emri and Kathrine Breza Suckenik. He was a member of the Visitation
Catholic Church, Mt. Pleasant, and Jednota Lodge 176.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. John (Dorothy) Voke of Stahlstown R.D.1 and
Mrs. Mary Burns of Stahlstown; one brother, Jacob of Mt. Pleasant, and sisters,
Mrs. Katherine Farkosovsky of Ambridge, Mrs. Sophia Gordelic and Mrs. Ann
Teminisky, both of Youngstown, Ohio, Helen Sukenik of Stahlstown, Mrs. Joseph
(Christine) Branak of Mt. Pleasant, Mrs. John (Agnes) Perpbonish of Tarrs, Pa.,
and Mrs. Steven (Margaret) Vargosko of Greensburg. Four grand-children also
survive.
Friends will be received at the L. Boyd Snyder Funeral Home, Stahlstown, from 9
a.m. to 9 p.m. daily after 7 p.m. Monday. Mass of Christian Burial will be held
in the Visitation Catholic Church, Mt. Pleasant, at 10 a.m. Wednesday. Interment
will be in the church cemetery. Recitation of the Rosary will be held at 7 p.m.
Tuesday in the funeral home.
